&

Texas Gulf Coast Trikers

Hello from Texas,

Both the Golden Triangle Trikers and Texas Gulf coast Trikers hope everyone is having a good year. Health issues have prevented many of our members from riding, so please keep us in your prayers.

The Golden Triangle Trikers welcome anyone with a love for trikes to attend our get togethers, which will be posted on the branch website, Trike Talk and/or the printable newsletter. If anyone is ever in the Golden Triangle area (Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange or surrounding area), send me an e-mail or call and leave a message.

Everyone is also invited to join Texas Gulf Coast Trikers at our regular monthly gathering at I-HOP in Kemah for dinner at 5:30 pm and the meeting at 6 pm on the first Friday of the month. Kemah is about halfway between Houston and Galveston. This invitation also includes any rides or other events in the future.

Everyone ride safe and be careful,

Outlaw Jim

Salem Oregon Triadics

Greetings!

The weather here in western Oregon is finally perfect for riding.  There are lots of bikes and a few trikes out on the roads.  I saw a Slingshot and a bike with a sidecar this morning at Safeway. Wally and I took a great ride last Sunday out into the hills to a lovely county park along a creek. Dozens of families were at the picnic tables and having fun. We will go back again, but not on a weekend.

Wally is working on our silver trike, which was built by Bondo Bob Johnson and which Wally finished by putting in the engine and wiring and stuff.  He has added a tow rig, so we can pull our teardrop trailer to a 'Steam-up' this weekend in Brooks, Oregon.  There will be lots of old tractors and a steam-powered sawmill and a huge yard sale of good, old stuff.  We will see Chris and George from the Triadics in Albany there.  They help at the sawmill, handling the brand new boards and such.  Melva is celebrating her retirement, but wondering how to fill the days. Gene works in his shop. Myron is still not well and Nancy is growing flowers on their porch.  Everyone else is working on trikes when they can.

Hope all you folks have a great August,

We meet on the 1st Thursday night of each month. Several members of our branch volunteer at Rachel's Wish every Sunday. Rachel's Wish is a program for handicapped children. They help children with physical and mental disabilities.

We are starting a new volunteer opportunity for those that want to help on the 3rd Thursday evening of the month. A local place called the Christian community council gives meals and boxes of food to the poor and needy. Volunteers pack the boxes and help load them in cars.

Texas Gulf Coast Trikers August Meeting

Jim Waldrep "Outlaw" - Gail Waldrep "Nightowl" - Sharon Hagewood - Ron Schipper "Papa Ron" - Beatriz Variot - Mike Variot "Captain Sundance" - Walter Sorrells - George Moll "Cobragun" -Diana Moll - Connie Sears - Jeff Sears - Ken Morgan "Captain Morgan" - Shirley Morgan "Firstmate" -Dianne Ballard "Lady Di" - James Ballard "Chaplain"

Walter Sorrells was raised in an orphanage

and learned to eat his dessert first because

he got none if he didn't. He still does that.

Captain Morgan ate all his dinner and then wanted a bite of Firstmate's. She had eaten it all, so he licked the plate.

Everyone was having such a great time that no one wanted to leave yet, so we all hung out in the parking lot for a little while.
